Here is another new section to the blog, Product reviews.
This is hopefully the first of many reviews.

When you first think of Cooper you think of the Mini Cooper car that changed the face of inner city commuting. The Cooper name has had a strong background in motor sport and has now made the switch to bicycles. Cooper bikes are the new venture from the Cooper family with a range of 7 bikes in total ranging from single speed, fixed and 3 speed bikes. All of the bikes within the range are consistent with the image of classic British styling and similar to the original range of Mini’s, there are a number of models available to suit the individual.

I had the chance to review the Monza bike, which is named after the iconic racetrack in Italy. In fact all of the bikes have been named after tracks that cooper machines have won at. The Monza model comes in at the middle of the range. On first impressions the components are of a high standard, influenced by classic British motor sport. The bike feels really stable at speed and is rather easy to manage with things get tricky. All of the components work really well together and the ratio lets you go badfast.

The verdict?
If box bikes are your thing, the Cooper range covers most of the bases whether it be single speed or fixed. I would go for the Sebring or Championship 50 as I’m not a fan of riser bars as featured on the Monza and I would swap out the pedals and run clips but that’s just my personal preference. Overall it’s got decent running components that won’t fail on you. Price point wise its middle of the road and would be good for someone wanting a reliable little runabout.
The final score: 4 out of 5

They are ready to be picked up at Mikes bikes and Bicycle world. more info about the bikes @ Cooper bikes
